Indians, Chinese and Arabs are the main influence to the Malay foods and dishes from Pahang. This is due to the traders who came in during the busy Spice Trade Era in the olden days. Such example can be seen when spices such as coriander, cumin seed and such is used in the favorite traditional dish. And the Arabs left behind their cooking trait in foods like the kebab that needs the meats to be marinated. Through all this influence, thus the nasi kebuli is born.
According to the beliefs of old folks, it is vital for the cook to ensure that the ingredients are mixed in the exact proportion and for the cook to stick strictly to the recipe. Most importantly, the cook must be properly dressed in clean and decent attire. This is due to the beliefs that the nasi kebuli will turn out to be tasteless and aroma less. So you can be sure that our cooks are properly dressed and our nasi kebuli is as tasty and rich in aroma as ever. That is our guarantee.
Our nasi kebuli is actually cooked with 18 spices with a mixture of coconut juice. The rendang is made from all fresh ingredients. And the fried chicken is fried with special spices as well. And there is also a side dish of sambal telur to compliment the tasteful nasi kebuli.
Here at Jombali, there are varieties of ways to enjoy your nasi kebuli. We are serving it in sets and there are three types of sets that are available to choose from. The nasi kebuli supreme consists of the nasi kebuli as the main dish and as side order; there will be a special fried chicken, acar timun and sambal telur to compliment it. For other nasi kebuli sets, there is a choice of chicken rendang or honey chicken. However or whichever your choice is, we hope you’ll enjoy it as much as we enjoyed preparing it. To sum it all, it is a dish fit for a king.
